Touch A Truck

This afternoon we took ALL the kids to touch a truck. And 3 out of 4 of the kids weren't happy about going.  They thought they had outgrown it.

First Swim

Before putting the babies away today Zack took them to the pool for a little swimming lesson. It took a few minutes but they caught on.

They needed a little help in and out of the pool
The older geese didn't like sharing their pool
Now they got their pool back!!!

Another Fishing Derby

Ossipee Old Home Week starts today for us with a fishing derby. These wouldn't be so bad if we didn't have to get up so early for them.

                                          Zack and Madison were focused
Devin was when he started but lost interest
You can just make out the snapping turtles body in the picture. I wasn't getting closer. He kept scaring off the fish.
Zack and Devin coming back from checking Zack's fish in.
                                           Madison measuring hers
                                          Now trying to be cute
                                          Devin caught a perch

Flag Football

On the last day of public school we had Keegan and Jake spend the night.  And of course all the kids wanted Arron to play with them. They were waiting for the rain to come and cool things down. But ended up playing flag football before the rain started. They started playing at 6pm and ended up ending the game at 9pm.  Everyone had a blast and was soaked from the rain when it did come. By the time we ended the game the next door kids came to play too.

Catch Of The Day

With these 3 I never know.  I sent them on a bike ride to check for sawdust and they come home with a catfish.  Zack found a line that someone lost in the water and then broke off a branch used Keegan's gum as bait.  I can't believe it worked.  They never did get around to see if there was any sawdust all they could ask is if they could go back with their fishing gear this time.  I'm beginning to believe the shooting coach that told Zack he wouldn't go hungry.

Pool Time!!!!

Zack has a small pool like this for the geese to play in.  Whenever Rex( happens to be Angels brother) comes down to play with Ginger and Angel he always takes a dip in the geese's pool. Since it's been so hot the last few days when Zack and I found this pool at the store we thought of Rex.

All the kids went to the brook and carried up a 5 gallon pail of water for the pool.
It didn't take Rex to long to figure out it was for him.
After laying in it he decided to splash the kids with his paw.

Cookies

Arron decided to make cookie's with Madison and Devin.
                                          Not a good idea
It was a recipe he'd never tried before and having kids help equal pigs ate cookies for breakfast. I promised him I'd make him some cookies this week when it cooled down.

Swimming

Jake and Keegan were over for the afternoon and after playing in the warm weather and taking care of the animals for the day. We decided to take the kids swimming.  Only problem was we had to many kids with us we had to take two cars to fit everyone in.

4-H Youth Shooting Day

Madison and Zack signed up for the youth shooting sports event. And even though they both wanted to do it when I signed them up they didn't want to on the day of the event. But once we got there they had a blast. The kids got to try all four events. Archery, Shotgun, Rifle, Pistol.
                                         Zack listening to the instructor

                                          Madison getting ready to shot
I was even able to sign Devin up last minute. Which made him happy that he got to participate  instead of watching with Arron and I.
                                           Zackary shooting
                                            Madison getting some fine tuning
                                          Retrieval time
                                           Devin with the Bows
Zack with the Pistols. Arron was his coach
                                          His targets
                                          Getting ready
Madison with the pistols. She really liked these. And did really well with them.  This is were she spent most of the afternoon.
Devin's turn with the pistols Arron was his coach as well when it was his turn.
Devin with the rifles. Not sure why I didn't get any photos of the other two with the rifles.
Madison learning about the shotguns. She wanted to try this but was afraid of the kick it would have. And it did have one
Some one in our shooting club just got certified to teach shotgun and at the last meeting the kids that were interested in shotgun had to watch a video and sign up to shoot.  Well Zack watched the video and ended up at the bottom of the sign up list.  So he was excited to get to shot these today.  And at the end of his first time he ended up with 8-10 clay targets shot.  His coach said he wouldn't go hungry.
Madison tried hard but was only able to clip one of the targets
By the end of the afternoon all the coaches at the shotgun stations were calling Zack the Sniper.  He was blowing the clay targets out of the sky just as they were getting ready to hit the ground.  At a place were the adults were having trouble hitting them.  Every time he hit another one the coaches all cheered louder than the kids waiting their turn.  He spent his afternoon here. But the lines were so long.
