Fishing

The boys found a nice little spot to fish in and caught their limit.
Now it's time for the cleaning of them. Zack used this time to look for the heart and bladder for his school lab.
Madison putting on her own worm
And out it goes.  She too caught her limit.
                                          As did Arron.

4-h Voyager's

Some of the kids in the group wanted to do an Easter Egg hunt but we weren't able to get it in before Easter so we decided to do it after Easter. The kids still had fun.
Madison running for a few eggs
I was trying to get most of the group but it wasn't easy.

Yard Work

After stacking 2 cords of wood by himself it was then time to help the rest of us that were raking the lawn.
Zack's way of helping is driving the tractor to be unloaded
Boy can he back that thing up
Trying not to laugh. It didn't work.

A Day At Purity Springs

The kids went to Purity Springs for a few hours to test their robots they built.

This is a much smaller course that they got to test on. It gave them an idea of what the real one would look like at UNH.
Madison and Erika working on getting theirs ready.
Zack and Joey( in the back you can't see him) getting ready
One of the robots going there the hoop

A.J's new chicks

This year A.J wanted to clean out most of his chickens and replace them with new chicks.  He bought some back at the end of January that should start laying in June.  Then he bought some fertile eggs off Craigs list.

He bought 24 eggs thinking only 12 would hatch. But all 24 hatched.  One died when it was half way out of egg.  And he lost 2 others over the first day or two. But other than that they are doing great.
                                          He's so proud of them.

4-H County Activities Day

This year we didn't go all out for activities day. But the kids did make posters.  Most of the posters were either from our 4-H Voyagers (our school group) or the 4-H rabbiteers.

Our school group just finished up a unit on birds so most of the kids did posters on birds. But my kids did posters with the rabbiteers.
This is a picture of Madison's gaint sunflower she grew last summer
This year there was a new catorgory. Electronic posters. So the kids each did a power point. This is Madison's which was on Caring for Doe's and their babies
Zackary did his on how he made maple syrup this year.
Here are some of the kids lined up for the award ribbons handed out at the end.

A.J's New Car

After saving and looking forever A.J finally found a truck. We'll it's an Explorer not a truck but close enough.
He got it for a good price and put a little work into it. And he's very happy with it. It will be a good first car for him.
Ginger is waiting for him to finish cleaning it so she could go for a car ride. He wouldn't stand beside the Explorer so I could get a good picture.

Co-op water classes

So one of the final co-op classes this year was a water class that lead into some other water topics for next year. In this class Mrs. Day would talk to the kids about some water topics and then lead them in a lab or two that went with what she talked about.
You can see how excited Zack was about this class.
                                          Madison with the girls listening
One of the lab for this day was for the kids to create their own land form and then predict the flow of water.
Everyone liked the part of crumbling the foil
Zack waiting for the water bottle
Madison waiting for the next set of directions
The other lab that day was some water testing
Here are the results of Zack and Joey's water tests
And now Mrs. Day is going over their results with them.
