Cumberland Fair!!

Zack and Madison had a rabbit show in Cumberland so we all went. We'd never been to this fair and I was excited to go see it. Well everyone told me it was great. I spent the day in the chair watching the rabbit show. I could barely walk. So I didn't get to see the fair. But the rabbit show was a good one. Zack and Madison only brought some of the Holland lops. Which gave them more time to enjoy the fair. The rabbits that Zack showed did great as they always do. And this was only Madison's second time showing. She decided to show Zeus and he ended up winning best of breed for the Holland lops in the second show. She was so excited. I don't think Zeus cared much. The next day she added his ribbons and trophy to the ribbon shelf in the barn. Good Job Zack and Madison!!

Willowbrook

Arron and I took A.J and Jake to Willow brook in Maine to a Civil War reenactment. Madison went with Megan to Bark in the Park. And Zack was a Tyler's for his Birthday. So it was just the boys. They loved it. I would of enjoyed it more if it wasn't for the crutches. I was only able to walk around for a little bit and then spent the rest of the time in the truck while the boys finished looking around. But they took lots of pictures for me to see what I was missing.

Now's there's TWO

Mercy now has a friend in the garage with her. The white tom had a kink in his neck this week and the rest of the flock just wanted to beat him up. So we removed him to the garage were he stays. I can't let him run in the day like Mercy does he takes off and stirs up the remaining toms. So I just let him out for a little bit to stretch his wings. And back he goes.

American Girl Class

Karen put together this great class for a bunch of girls. Madison isn't really into the American Girl dolls but she thought it would be better than reading a History book and answering questions. She ended up having a really good time and as usaual Karen had an awesome class planned. Since I can't do much on crutches I stayed in the corner and took pictures of everything they did.
working on a pouch craft
Playing cats cadle or learning to play.
Working on a coil basket.
Madison playing a Native American game.

Start of the harvest

On the way out to the garden to start cleaning it up a little we let Mercy out for some fresh air. But she can't seem to get why the turkey in the window won't answer her. She spent two hours walking window to window looking at herself and pecking the windows.
Madison working on the tomato's. She was picking up the bad one's and putting them in the wheelbarrow for the chickens.
Princess with Madison's pumpkins. Her giant pumpkin was eating at the bottom. We're hoping it will still be okay. We left it in the garden for now.
A.J working on the first row of Potato's

Not to bad for our first row of Potato's. This year they seem to be a little bigger than last years.
We picked our first basket full of apples from our apple tree in No Man's Land this morning. I can't wait to start cooking with them.

Fresh Eggs

A.J's morning eggs. He just brought them in to be washed and put away.
Madison pulling her sunflower seeds out to dry them and save them for next year.

Tomato's

Madison managed to find some good tomato's. They need a good cleaning first

Co-op Starts

Today was the first day of co-op classes. Instead of traveling just about every day for a class we decided to hold a bunch of different classes on one day at one location. This round of classes had more for Madison than the boys. But we still found things for them to do. We then ended our day by testing our wired for wind blades.

Testing Day!!

Today we met at the Center to meet with other people that are working on the wired for wind project and test what we've done so far at home. Not many people came which worked out well. I think the slower classes are better it gave the kids more chances to test their blades.

Just about done!!!

For the most part the barn is finally done. We still have to do some trim work and put a few more screws in. But the majority of it is done. For awhile I didn't think we would ever get to this point. But it looks so good. And Zack is real happy with the way it can out.

Day #38

Finished putting up the last two pieces of steel and we also put up the last few pieces of siding in the front and back.
