Photography class

A.J and Zack along with some other kids from our group took a four week photography class in Conway. They boys weren't to excited about having to go to the photography class but both agreed it was better than sitting through dance. They both did enjoy trying out what they were taught in class. So one day A.j brought in a giant egg from his chickens then went to all the eggs in the refriderator to find two other sizes and ended up with these pictures to show for his homework that week.

All day

With gas prices and bad weather in the winter not to mention everyones busy scedule we try to plan a full day of events when we plan something. On this day we our monthly 4-H meeting were the kids learned to make poppies for the veterns to hand out. Our group had to make 1000 poppies. Thankfully we had some kids that had a good time making them and were able to get them done. Then we had a late Valentine's party for the kids. Karen and I got smart this year and had one project for the kids to do that would keep them busy after handing out their valentine's. Then after the party it was time for our montly magazine. This months topic was "Best place you visited in NH).

Chase Hill Rabbitry

In Zack's hunt for good show and breeding rabbits we ended up going to CT to get some Holland Lops that his 4-H leader found. It was a very long day. We took Zack and Tyler who were getting the rabbits and Keegan tagged along because he had just joined the Rabbiteers and wanted to learn about rabbits and we had Madison as well. Thank God for DS it kept the kids quite for most of the trip. Once we got there the kids got to listen to Bob who taught them how to spot the good and bad qualities in a Holland Lop. The kids had a great time. It was our first rabbitry to visit.

4- UNH for the day

Some of the kids from our school group and 4-H group went to UNH for the day to do some science classes. Arron and A.J along with most of the other kids choose to do Wind and Power. They got to make wind mills and paper boats to test wind and motion. I didn't get any pictures of them in class because Zack and I choose to do the animal science class. We spent the day learning about the heart and telling animals furs apart and how they adapt to their evironment. Then we went to the organic dairy barn to see how the cows are milked and fed. It was a long day but we all learned a least one thing we didn't know.

We got to wear special boots all around the barn

Jake B-Day

When Jake's birthday came around again this year. All he wanted to do was go tubing again this year. So that's what we did. It was a great day sunny and warm for February. And we all had a great day. Zack's friend Tyler even joined us on the mountian for the fun.

Trebuchets class

This was one of my favorite Explore It/ Design It science classes this year. The were put into small groups. Except A.J who I made work alone. In the groups the kids had to make a working trebuchet out of a yardstick and two one gallon jugs of water. Using tape and weights. The last class we taped off on the floor and the each made two paper ships that were placed in the taped off erea that was supost to be our water and placed their trebuchets all around the floor and got to shot at the other groups ships.

How do you know when you have to much snow?

You know you have to much snow when your shoveling the roof off and the dog jumps up on the roof with you. As we shoveled off the house roof it piled up so it's even with the top of the garage roof so Ginger would jump up on the roof and then A.J would slide down the roof on his butt and Ginger would jump off the roof after him. Then they'd do it all over again. So much for helping me shovel off the roof.

Hippity Hop Rabbitry

Zack has named his rabbitry Hippity Hop Rabbitry. He just got his papers in the mail the other day from the ARBA. (American Rabbit Breeders Association). And he went to his first show last month. Bells and Rosie his Holland Lops did good for their first time. Zack is awaiting Rosies first litter due next weekend. And he got Persephone at the show. It's another breed he wants to work with. He and Bumpa finished a three cage pen last month just in time for the new rabbit. And he's planning a trip to CT in the next week or two for two more Holland Lop Babies. Zack has really gotten into this and that's what he's spending most of his time in science this year doing.
