We plan to have our garden at our house this year since we now can. So we've been collecting our seeds and the other day Zack and Madison got to go start our seeds on the sunroom. They love this time of the year when they can get away from book work and do hands on things. So they loved science this week. With all our planting and talking about how things grow.

Okay, growing up my Dad always mowed the lawn and since I've been with Arron I let him. I have know interest in cutting grass. So on Saturday while Arron was trying to prune some more of the apple and pear trees Zack was able to get the lawn mower started to Arron amazement. And he started to mow the area in front of the apple trees were Arron was working. He didn't get to far before he left for a friends house so I decided to take over. The whole yard know matter where you are is so over grown and thick. You can't get anywere with a rake. The house isn't the only thing the people before us let go they didn't take care of the land either. So after a half hour of cutting you start to get this burning smell so I shut it off. And I tell Arron that the lawn mower is smoking. He comes over and cleans out all the built up grass and tells me I'm all set to keep going. (So he starts the mower I can't pull it with my arm)and I keep going on. Just as I'm finishing up and shut the mower off it starts really smoking and there are flames coming out of it this time. The wind didn't help it kept the flames going. Need less to say that after another half an hour and a whole lot of smoking and burning and worrying that it wouldn't go near the gas tank that Arron had just filled up before I started mowing again it died down. Arron said that it was my first and last time mowing. But I was able to get this one little strip of lawn mowed and it even has green grass growing.

Gym Days
We been going to the town hall with our school group on Friday afternoons to let the kids have some were to burn off there energy. We thought it would be a good place to teach them some school yard games that they don't get to play because they don't have recess every day with a school full of kids. Besides at most of the school around here you can't play any game like tag or duck duck goose anymore because it involves touching other children. All the kids are loving it. Double dutch and dodge ball were the favorites the first week. I had fun jump roping (what a shame no pictures were taken).
My Deer
I've always wanted a house that you could look out the window and see wildlife. People have told us that there are deer around on our property and we saw signs they left behind we haven't seen any. The other morning when I came down the stairs I could see a deer out the first sunroom door. When we went to look closer and try and get a picture we saw that it wasn't only one deer in the yard but six. I thought it was so cool to watch them up close. The kids and I ended up going to the upstairs sunroom to watch them better. They went though the yard to the apple tress and down the driveway to cross the road to get to the meadow on the other side. They were better two nights later and Arron got to see them.

Our field trip to The American Textile Musuem
We went with our school group to visit the Textile Musuem and the Botts Cotton Mill Musuem in Mass. Madison and Zackary had taken a class earlier on learning about the mills in New England. So this was a follow up for them. It was a very long day for us. But we had a lot of fun. And we even learned a few neat things we didn't know.
